The UAE Fuel Price Committee announced higher petrol and diesel prices for August 2026. The revised rates will come into effect from August 1. Now motorists will pay more across all fuel categories, with a uniform increase of AED 0.20 per litre.
Reportedly, Super 98 petrol will cost AED 3.60 per litre, up from AED 3.40 in July. Special 95 petrol price is up by AED 3.49 per litre from AED 3.29, E-Plus 91 petrol at AED 3.41 per litre, compared with AED 3.21 last month. Diesel price rose to AED 3.80 per litre from AED 3.60.
The UAE reviews fuel prices every month through its deregulated pricing mechanism. The Fuel Price Committee adjusts retail fuel rates based on developments in international oil markets and other pricing factors. This ensures that domestic fuel prices remain aligned with global trends.
The latest revision reverses July's lower fuel prices, when rates eased after several months of increases. This price increase will impact motorists in the country starting in August. The approved fuel prices for August 2026 are:
Super 98: AED 3.60 per litre
Special 95: AED 3.49 per litre
E-Plus 91: AED 3.41 per litre
Diesel: AED 3.80 per litre
These prices will remain in force until the next monthly review by the UAE Fuel Price Committee at the end of August.
Consumers will incur higher fuel costs for their cars and commercial purposes. Businesses that rely heavily on road logistics may also experience higher operating expenses if fuel prices remain elevated in the coming months. Currently, the UAE policy of reviewing fuel prices monthly continues. This allows fuel prices to move in either direction depending on global oil market conditions.
