Valve’s upcoming Steam Frame VR headset is nearing launch, with official-looking unboxing and setup videos appearing through the company’s ARM-based Steam client. The videos were quickly removed, but copies were already extracted and circulated online.
The leak offers a detailed look at the headset, its accessories, and the initial setup process. It also strengthens speculation that Valve could launch the Steam Frame soon, although the company did not confirm a specific release date or price.
The leaked material reportedly includes eight videos covering different aspects of the Steam Frame. These include unboxing, fitting the headset, adjusting the Interpupillary Distance (IPD), signing into Steam, setting up the wireless adapter, and installing ergonomic accessories.
Their appearance suggests that the company has prepared much of the customer onboarding material ahead of retail availability.
The unboxing footage shows the headset alongside its controllers, USB-C cable, spacer and wireless adapter. The setup process also demonstrates how users can sign into their Steam accounts and configure the device before gaming.
Valve also prepared guides for the headset’s fit and IPD adjustment. Users can modify the lens spacing for better optical clarity and use a magnetic spacer if they wear glasses. An extended light blocker is also available for users who experience light leakage around the nose area.
