Veo introduces the Rover, a three-wheeled electric trike designed to make short-distance urban travel more accessible. The vehicle debuts in Denver, where the company now operates the city's shared bike and scooter network. Rather than replacing e-scooters or e-bikes, the Rover is positioned as another option for riders who prefer greater stability and comfort.
Rover features a seating arrangement with three wheels, while it can move at 10mph with an estimated mileage of 45 miles on one charge.
There is also a basket placed at the back of the vehicle, allowing users to transport their grocery items or luggage. Additionally, the battery system used by Rover is identical to that of other vehicles in Veo’s electric fleet.
Accessibility is the key focus of Veo's latest launch, as the Rover comes with input from disability advocates, senior organizations, and mobility experts. Several cities now expect micromobility providers to offer more inclusive transport options, and the Rover is designed to help meet those expectations.
The e-trike also offers digital innovations that are meant to increase the safety of the rider. The rider is guided by an artificial intelligence voice guide that gives details about the navigation as well as the journey. Lidar technology is used to identify whether the vehicle is being ridden on the sidewalk.
Denver will serve as the first real-world test for the shared electric trike. Veo plans to study rider adoption, operational performance, and public feedback before introducing the vehicle elsewhere.
