WHOOP expands its digital healthcare efforts through its new app that offers doctor consultations and improved medical monitoring capabilities. The company introduced multiple healthcare enhancements.
The aim is to transform its fitness platform into an all-encompassing health management system. Wearable brands now compete in the market through advanced features extending beyond basic step tracking and sleep monitoring.
The press release states, ‘unlike traditional healthcare experiences that rely on brief, episodic snapshots, these consultations begin with a comprehensive understanding of the member’s health, powered by months of continuous data and, when available, bloodwork and medical history.’
WHOOP stated that its new feature allows clinicians to access months of biometric data collected by the wearable before consultations begin. The company said doctors can review metrics, including:
Heart rate trends
Recovery levels
Sleep quality
Physical strain
WHOOP believes the feature allows users to receive personalized health insights that go beyond standard short-term health assessments. The service will launch its initial operations across the United States.
Whoop has also established Electronic Health Record integration through its collaboration with HealthEx. The feature allows users to access their medical history, prescriptions, lab reports, and diagnoses.
Whoop also unveiled a new ‘My Memory’ tool. This will allow users to manage access to their personal data present on the platform’s AI assistant. The new Journal function now enables users to record their habits through voice and text methods. It can track supplements, routines, diet changes, and lifestyle habits. The app can also analyze how these factors affect recovery metrics.
The company introduced ‘Proactive Check-Ins,’ featuring automatic health recommendations based on user behaviour and activity patterns. Whoop has established itself as a health support service that relies on medical professionals while providing continuous biometric monitoring.
