Apple’s September 9 event may not include several products that were expected to arrive this year. Reports suggest the regular iPhone 18 and second-generation iPhone Air could move to spring 2027.
The company is expected to focus the event on its premium iPhone models. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are among the devices widely expected to appear at the event.
The regular iPhone 18 is now reportedly following a different launch schedule. Apple may introduce the standard model in spring 2027 instead of launching it with the Pro models in September.
The next-generation iPhone is expected to use Apple’s A20 chip. Reports also point to a 2nm manufacturing process for the processor. The phone could also feature a 24-megapixel front camera and a smaller Dynamic Island.
The iPhone Air 2 may not appear at the September event. Apple launched the first iPhone Air with the iPhone 17 series last year.
The next model is reportedly planned for spring 2027 alongside the regular iPhone 18. It could receive a second rear camera and improved battery life. Reports also suggest it may use a more efficient A20 Pro chip.
The Apple Watch SE 4 could also miss the event. Apple launched the Watch SE 3 in September 2025. Current reports offer limited evidence of a fourth-generation model arriving in 2026.
New Mac models are another possibility that could be left out. Apple is reportedly developing updated MacBook Pro models with a future high-end version that could feature an OLED display and a thinner design.
A refreshed 24-inch iMac with a newer-generation chip is also reportedly in development. Apple often gives its Mac lineup a separate launch window later in the year.
The company already announced new Mac models in August. That makes a major Mac announcement at the September 9 event less likely, according to the report.
Apple is also expected to introduce products such as the iPhone Ultra, AirPods 5, Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 at the event.
