Abu Dhabi-based AI company G42 joined NVIDIA’s Open Secure AI Alliance, marking another step in the global effort to build secure and transparent AI systems. The move positions G42 among leading technology companies working together to strengthen AI cybersecurity through open-weight and open-source models.

Focus on Secure and Open AI Development

Open Secure AI Alliance was launched by NVIDIA to create open technologies, research frameworks, and security tools that help protect AI systems and autonomous agents. The initiative supports greater transparency, faster vulnerability detection, and collaborative defense against emerging cyber threats. It also builds on existing open-source security efforts led by industry organizations.

With the addition of G42, the partnership remains in motion, featuring collaboration between prominent tech companies such as Microsoft, IBM, Cisco, Cloudflare, Salesforce, Hugging Face, Adobe, Palantir, SpaceX, and many more. Through their partnership, the participants aim to create joint security processes and open-source tools used to make AI safer.

The Chief Executive Officer of G42, Peng Xiao, highlighted that in the future, apart from the efficiency of AI, there would be a need to ensure that the implementation and development of AI could be done in a secure way by governments and enterprises. There was a need for open frontier models to augment the proprietary models in terms of AI development.

A Strategic Win for the UAE

For G42, joining the alliance reinforces its expanding role in global AI development and strengthens its long-standing partnership with NVIDIA. The move also aligns with the UAE's broader ambition to become a global hub for trusted AI infrastructure, innovation, and digital sovereignty.
