Samsung has officially announced that its next Galaxy Unpacked event will be held on July 22, which marks one of the largest hardware launches by the company this year. The company has also given a tagline to its upcoming event called ‘A New Shape Unfolds.’ Highlighting that the tech giant will put focus on foldable smartphones and artificial intelligence-driven products.
The announcement comes as Samsung looks to strengthen its leadership in the foldable smartphone segment. This comes amid the growing competition from Chinese smartphone makers and the anticipated arrival of more premium foldable devices across the industry.
The most popular device in the lineup will be the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which is set to be Samsung’s first Ultra foldable phone. Reports from the industry indicate that this product lineup will have a slimmer body and a more productive Galaxy AI system thanks to a wider cover display.
Another anticipated product from Samsung will be the Galaxy Z Fold 8. In terms of hardware and software, it won't get any changes in its design. Instead, this product will get some upgrades in terms of performance and usability. Samsung has also opened pre-reservations for the upcoming devices in select markets, offering incentives to customers who register before the official launch.
Beyond its foldable smartphones, the South Korean company is also set to announce the Galaxy Watch 9 family and potentially some new ventures into the realms of XR and smart glasses. Samsung is also expected to bring the Galaxy Z Flip 8, which is to deliver design and camera upgrades along with enhanced AI capabilities, yet sticking to the classic clamshell format.
The July 22 event will indicate how Samsung plans to maintain its lead while expanding its AI ecosystem across devices. Pricing, availability, and complete specifications will be revealed during the keynote.
