This new working model saves time, reduces paper flow, and allows officials to concentrate on work that is more complicated and less repetitive.
The UAE has also introduced one of the world's first large-scale Agentic AI programs for government. This advanced form of AI goes beyond answering questions. It can plan tasks, complete several actions in sequence, work across different government systems, and support decision-making. The UAE Cabinet has approved a national framework that aims to move 50 percent of federal government services and operations to Agentic AI within two years. This step marks a major shift from simple automation to intelligent digital operations that work with minimal human intervention while still following government rules and oversight.
The transformation does not focus only on technology. It also prepares government employees for new ways of work. The federal government plans AI training for 80,000 employees across leadership, technical, specialist, and general workforce roles. Abu Dhabi has already expanded AI adoption through 35,000 Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses across 27 government entities. Staff members now use AI to prepare reports, review documents, draft policies, and complete administrative work with greater efficiency. These efforts strengthen productivity while helping employees build practical AI skills for future public service roles.
Reliable infrastructure forms another key part of the UAE's AI vision. Government agencies continue to expand sovereign cloud systems that keep public data inside the country. Local AI models, secure digital platforms, and advanced cybersecurity measures support this approach. These systems protect sensitive information while allowing public departments to share data safely and deliver connected services. Citizens and businesses also benefit from digital platforms that combine payments, appointments, permits, and identity services in one place. AI studies user needs and offers faster, more personalized support through these unified government platforms.
