Warhorse Studios has confirmed that a new game set in the Kingdom Come universe is under development. The announcement came during the studio’s reveal of another major project, an open-world Lord of the Rings RPG.

The developer described the upcoming title as ‘a new Kingdom Come adventure,’ but stopped short of calling it Kingdom Come: Deliverance 3. This phrasing has already sparked speculation among fans about whether the next game will continue Henry’s story or introduce a new protagonist.

Warhorse Expands the Franchise

The studio shared the update through social media earlier this week. While no gameplay or screenshots were shown, Warhorse confirmed that work on the next medieval RPG is already underway.

The Kingdom Come series built its reputation on realistic combat, historically grounded storytelling, and open-world exploration. Unlike most fantasy RPGs, the franchise avoided magic and focused on medieval politics, survival, and large-scale battles.

This formula helped the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance achieve a breakout success after its 2018 release. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II followed years later and expanded the scale of the series with a larger world and improved combat systems. Reports suggest the next project could continue in the same direction.

Release Window Possibly Set for 2027

Warhorse Studios has not announced a release date, but sources linked to Embracer Group suggest the game may launch between April 2027 and March 2028.

The studio has also remained quiet about platforms, story details, and the scale of the project. Some reports claim the next title may be smaller in scope compared to Deliverance II, though nothing has been confirmed.

Even with limited information available, the announcement has already generated strong interest across RPG communities online.

Leadership Changes Reportedly Underway

Several reports claim Warhorse Studios is also making internal creative changes. Kingdom Come co-creator Daniel Vávra is reportedly stepping back from direct development work to focus on film and television projects connected to the franchise.

Designer Prokop Jirsa is expected to take on a larger creative role for future games. Warhorse is currently balancing multiple large projects, including the newly announced Lord of the Rings RPG. Despite that, the studio appears committed to continuing the Kingdom Come franchise beyond its current storyline.

For now, fans will have to wait for gameplay footage and official story details. Still, the confirmation alone signals that Warhorse is not done with its medieval RPG series anytime soon.
