Google is expanding the capabilities of its Gemini AI assistant by allowing users to access and interact with multiple Google apps through a more connected experience. The feature allows Gemini to work across services like Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Photos, Search, and YouTube. It will help users complete tasks more efficiently.
Users can ask Gemini natural-language questions such as:
Find the email about my flight tickets
Summarize this document
Show my recent travel photos
Compare information from different tabs
Gemini can then pull contextual information from connected Google apps to provide more personalized and accurate responses.
Google mentioned in its blog, “To quickly get up to speed on a long Gmail thread, let Gemini summarize it for you. You can ask it to find specific information, such as the due date for your client presentation. If you need to reschedule, Gemini can update your calendar with the new date, text the change to your colleagues, then check whether the design team has sent an email confirming they’ll be ready.”
Gemini integration is becoming deeper across the Google ecosystem:
In Chrome, Gemini can summarize webpages and compare tabs.
In Workspace apps, it can assist with documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
Google’s Personal Intelligence feature allows Gemini to check Gmail, Photos, Search, and YouTube history for contextual assistance.
Google has announced a new set of artificial intelligence-led updates aimed at making online shopping more intuitive and efficient for users in India. The company is integrating its Gemini models with the Shopping Graph, a dataset comprising over 50 billion product listings globally, with nearly 2 billion updates taking place every hour.
“We're making it easier than ever to find exactly what you need, with tools that bring together our Gemini models and Google’s Shopping Graph” said Google in its blog.
“You can move beyond simple text suggestions and get shoppable product listings, comparison tables, prices from across the web and places to buy right in the Gemini app…” the company stated.
