Apple has finally brought touchscreen technology to the MacBook Pro! Announced on October 28, 2026, the new MacBook Pro introduces touch controls to Apple's professional laptop range for the first time. The launch brings a fresh design, a new display and improved features, giving users another way to interact with their Mac.

One of the biggest changes is the new PROLED XDR display, which uses tandem OLED technology. It offers deeper blacks, brighter visuals and more detailed colours. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness, making it suitable for creative work, video editing and everyday use.

The touchscreen is the biggest highlight of the new MacBook Pro. Users can scroll through websites, zoom into photos, move presentation slides and arrange windows using their fingers. Apple has designed touch controls to work alongside the keyboard and trackpad, so users can switch between different ways of working whenever needed.

The new MacBook Pro is powered by Apple's M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. These processors are designed to handle demanding tasks such as video editing, 3D design and software development. The laptop also supports up to 128GB of unified memory and up to 16TB of storage, depending on the configuration.

Another major addition is Dynamic Island, which comes to the Mac for the first time. It provides quick access to Spotlight search, Live Activities and Siri AI. Users can check updates, manage music and interact with important information without moving between multiple apps, making everyday tasks more convenient.

Apple has also introduced a thinner and lighter design in the new MacBook Pro. It comes in 14-inch and 16-inch models and offers up to 24 hours of battery life. Other features include a 12MP Center Stage camera, a six-speaker sound system, Thunderbolt 5 connectivity and MagSafe charging.

The new touchscreen MacBook Pro is designed for professionals, creators and developers. Apple says touch support works with apps such as Canva, Microsoft Office, Adobe Lightroom and DaVinci Resolve. Pre-orders opened on October 28, 2026, with availability starting November 6. It marks a major change in how users interact with MacBooks.
