Apple is working on four different designs for its smart glasses. According to the latest reports, this initiative highlights the tech giant’s aim to merge fashion and technology into its next big hardware. The designs vary in shape, with some appearing bulkier while others are minimalist.
The devices being tested include extra-large rectangular lenses, slimmer rectangular lenses, and both larger and smaller circular lenses. It seems that Apple is trying to emulate the traditional eyewear industry by introducing a range of designs. Moreover, the firm reportedly tried several color options, suggesting that Apple will offer customizable products, like its other wearables.
Unlike AR glasses with built-in screens, Apple's smart glasses will not be immersive. The gadget might come equipped with cameras, microphones, and speakers for functionality.
Primary features of the glasses include hands-free photo-taking, music streaming, making calls, and strong integration with Apple's virtual assistant. Furthermore, the device will likely rely heavily on artificial intelligence and process data using an iPhone paired with the glasses, making the hardware lighter.

According to estimates, future glasses will work alongside the Apple Vision Pro. In contrast to the Vision Pro, which targets top-of-the-line spatial computing applications, the glasses will try to be more affordable and suitable for all-day use.
By eliminating sophisticated display technology, Apple seems to focus on creating a comfortable and affordable device for daily use, which, so far, has been one reason smart glasses have failed to become popular. Some sources claim that the launch of the smart glasses may occur around the end of 2026 or even at the beginning of 2027. It will change the wearable devices market if the company succeeds.
