Blizzard Entertainment has rolled out Overwatch Season 3: Into the Tiger’s Den, delivering one of the game’s biggest updates of 2026. The new season introduces Shion, a new Damage hero, alongside a Tokyo-inspired map, limited-time events, hero reworks, and a host of cosmetic rewards. The update continues the ongoing Reign of Talon narrative while expanding gameplay across multiple modes.
Season 3's new addition is Shion, who leads the Hashimoto clan and is the latest addition to the list of heroes. Built to be an offensive flanking hero, she utilizes dual pistols, high mobility, and the ability to ride a motorcycle into battle and launch it towards opponents. According to Blizzard, she is a Damage hero who will put the player at risk and potentially reap great rewards.
Neon Junction is a new Hybrid map introduced in Season 3, set in Tokyo. In this map, players fight their way through streets, arcades, and territories controlled by the Hashimotos as they advance further into the city.
The storyline of Reign of Talon is further developed in Season 3. This is delivered through Anima Strike, an event that runs for a limited time during which players can discover the story and earn rewards.
Apart from all of the fresh content, there have been balance updates for several heroes as well as an update for the Stadium mode. Some of the heroes to have received substantial balance changes include Tracer, Kiriko, Sojourn, Doomfist, and Hazard. New Battle Pass skins, Mythic skins, Ultra Skins, and various other cosmetic items are also available in Season 3.
Blizzard has introduced a new character, a new map, storyline-related events, and game changes in this update. Experts suggest that the company is once again taking significant steps toward releasing its new seasons even faster. This season once again proves Blizzard’s dedication to expanding Overwatch both competitively and narratively.
