Xiaomi's next flagship is already drawing attention through early leaks that suggest major hardware upgrades. Attention has shifted to Xiaomi 18, even as Xiaomi 17 has only recently reached the market. The reported changes include a larger battery, a next-generation Qualcomm processor, and a substantially stronger camera system, while keeping the phone in a relatively compact form factor.
The biggest talking point is the camera setup. Multiple leaks claim Xiaomi 18 could feature a triple rear camera system with a 200MP primary sensor, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. A 50MP front camera is also expected for selfies and video calls.
If the reports are accurate, Xiaomi 18 would become the first standard Xiaomi flagship to bring dual 200MP cameras, a feature that has largely stayed within higher-end premium models.

Leaks also point to a 7,200 mAh battery within the Xiaomi 18 engineering prototype. This marks a slight increase over the 7,000mAh battery reported for Xiaomi 17.
The phone is also tipped to support 100W wired fast charging along with 50W wireless charging. Xiaomi is reportedly pairing these upgrades with a 6.4-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED display featuring a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate. The handset is also expected to carry an IP69 rating for water and dust resistance.
Powering the device could be Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, paired with 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. The smartphone is expected to ship with HyperOS 17 based on Android 17.
Fresh reports also suggest Xiaomi plans to strengthen its entire flagship lineup. Leaker Kartikey Singh claims the standard Xiaomi 18 will already include dual 200MP sensors, placing it alongside premium camera-focused rivals such as the Vivo X300 Ultra and Oppo Find X9 Ultra.
Xiaomi 18 Pro is expected to introduce LOFIC technology for improved dynamic range on its main camera. Reports also indicate Xiaomi 18 Pro Max could receive the newer LOFIC 3.0 technology.
Meanwhile, Digital Chat Station has stated that development of Xiaomi 18 Ultra was paused for some time. The project is reportedly still active, with Xiaomi continuing work on a 1-inch 200MP camera sensor for the future flagship.
The same leaks also mention a redesigned Xiaomi 18 Pro with a 6.4-inch display, slimmer bezels, a larger battery, 100W charging, wireless charging, and a fully waterproof body.
If Xiaomi follows its usual product cycle, the Xiaomi 18 could debut in China in September 2026. The figure is only an initial projection and has not been confirmed by the phone maker. Separate reports also suggest that the Xiaomi 18 series could see a 10% price hike compared to the current generation, reflecting higher component costs.
Xiaomi has not officially announced the specifications, launch schedule, or pricing for the Xiaomi 18 series.
