Apple’s long-rumored foldable smartphone is back in the spotlight. The tech giant might be gearing up for the release of the iPhone Ultra. This is rumored to be the company’s first-ever foldable mobile phone, available only in one color.
Recently, tipster Sonny Dickson posted on X that the iPhone Ultra is expected to be launched in white. It suggests that Apple may have plans to restrict its color range in the first generation of foldable models.
In his post, Dickson shared the image of the dummy iPhone Ultra, Apple’s first foldable device. He explained, “The foldable iPhone currently appears only in white, raising the possibility that Apple may launch the device in a single colour option.” Moreover, the claim also matches recent reports from other tipsters who suggested Apple could avoid bold finishes for its first foldable smartphone.
Apple executed a similar strategy with select premium products in the past. A limited colour lineup could help it position the foldable as an exclusive flagship. Thus, simplifying production during the initial rollout.
There are also reports that the iPhone Ultra may come with a 5.5-inch outer screen and a 7.8-inch inner flexible OLED display. In addition, there are also reports that Apple will employ titanium construction and a new hinge system to ensure there are no creases in the display.
The iPhone Ultra might be powered by Apple's A20 Pro chipset while offering 12GB of RAM with 1TB of storage. It is also rumoured to have dual rear 48MP camera sensors along with high-quality front-facing sensors on both screens. The starting price of the iPhone Ultra is expected to be approximately $2,000 globally and Rs. 1.75 lakh to Rs. 2 lakh in India.
Industry analysts expect Apple to unveil the iPhone Ultra in September 2026 alongside its next-generation iPhone lineup. However, the final timeline may depend on Apple’s ability to meet durability and manufacturing targets.
