Apple’s iOS 27 update may introduce a fully customizable Camera app with redesigned controls and interface options for iPhone users, according to the latest leaks. Design changes are also planned for Safari, Weather, and other system applications.

The reported design refresh covers multiple system apps in iOS 27. This follows Apple's design evolution pattern, where major iOS versions introduce consistent visual themes.

What New Features Could Arrive in the iOS 27 Camera App?

Apple plans to make the iPhone Camera app fully customizable in iOS 27, alongside a major overhaul of Siri and design changes to Safari, Weather, and other system apps. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, these rumored changes represent Apple's most significant interface updates in recent years.

The fully customizable Camera app will allow users to modify its interface and controls. Siri will receive what's described as a significant overhaul, though specific details remain unclear.

Apple’s Focus on User Experience

The report suggests Apple is prioritizing user control and interface modernization. This marks a shift from Apple's traditionally locked-down approach to core app customization. The changes could affect how millions of iPhone users interact with their devices daily.

Currently, iPhone users cannot modify Camera controls, rearrange modes, or personalize the shooting experience beyond basic settings adjustments.

Design changes coming to Safari and Weather

Safari and Weather apps are reportedly receiving noticeable design updates in iOS 27.

Safari changes could address user interface inconsistencies and improve tab management, areas where competitors like Chrome have gained ground. Weather app updates might focus on data presentation and forecast accuracy, building on recent improvements introduced in iOS 26.1.

Closing Note

A customizable Camera app would be a notable change from Apple's historically fixed interface. These changes suggest Apple is refreshing its core application interfaces across the board, not just focusing on improvements to Camera and Siri.

None of this is official yet, but with WWDC 2026 just weeks away, Apple’s next software update is starting to sound more like a rethink of how the iPhone should behave in the AI era.
