Apple released watchOS 27.2, the first major update to its watchOS 27 operating system. The update focuses on Siri AI, adding memory, faster replies, and support for more languages on compatible Apple Watch models.
Users can install the update from the Settings app on the Watch or through the Apple Watch app on a paired iPhone. Apple requires the device to be on its charger. The aim is to keep the battery above 50% during installation.
The headline change is Siri AI’s ability to retain context from earlier interactions. Users can now ask follow-up questions about previous recommendations, such as restaurants Siri suggested last week.
This makes the assistant more conversational and reduces the need to repeat details. Apple says the feature helps Siri provide answers that reflect a user’s prior requests rather than treating every query as separate.
Siri AI can now draw on a wider set of information from the paired iPhone. It can use photos attached in Messages, Calendar event attendees, voicemails, and information from Safari history and Reading List. Apple also introduced Excluded Apps, a single setting that lets users decide which apps Siri, Search, and suggestions can access. The control gives users more say over the data feeding Apple’s AI features.
Apple says Siri AI now responds faster on Apple Watch. The improvement addresses one of the main complaints from users who found earlier versions slow to complete routine commands.
The update also expands Siri AI to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish, in addition to English. However, the feature remains unavailable in the European Union and mainland China. The update signals Apple’s continued push to position Siri AI as a practical assistant on the wrist. For users, the test will be whether faster responses and better recall translate into dependable everyday use
