Apple brings back a nostalgic surprise into iOS 27. The latest iPhone software hides Clarus the Dogcow. This character comes as part of Apple’s Macintosh history, running for decades. The Easter egg sits inside the new Liquid Glass settings and is easy to miss unless users know where to look.
The Easter egg is located inside Settings > Appearance > Liquid Glass. Apple added a preview window in this section to demonstrate how the Liquid Glass interface looks at different opacity levels.
You can scroll through it. The trick is to keep scrolling even after the preview appears to have reached its end. As users continue scrolling, a search bar appears. The interface then begins entering “Moof!” automatically. A 3D version of Clarus the Dogcow subsequently appears, revealing the hidden surprise.
To find Clarus on iOS 27:
Open Settings.
Tap Appearance.
Select Liquid Glass.
Scroll through the preview window.
Keep scrolling beyond its apparent endpoint.
Wait for the search bar and the automatically entered “Moof!” to appear.
Clarus the Dogcow will then be revealed
The Dogcow Easter egg does not introduce any new functionality. Instead, it adds a playful touch to Liquid Glass, one of the defining elements of Apple’s latest software design.
iOS 27 itself brings much bigger changes. Apple is introducing its long-awaited Siri AI, additional Liquid Glass controls, redesigned icons, extra-large widgets and more Lock Screen customisation. Apple is scheduled to release iOS 27 publicly on September 14.
