Rockstar Games' GTA 6 has reportedly earned around USD 751 million from preorders across PlayStation 5 and Xbox. Data from analytics firm Sensor Tower shows that about 7.71 million copies were sold by November 3. The game is set to release on November 19, 2026.

PlayStation has the biggest share of preorders, accounting for 74% of total sales. Xbox makes up the remaining 26%. In revenue, PlayStation has generated an estimated USD 559 million, while Xbox has brought in around USD 192 million.

These figures show the strong demand for the next Grand Theft Auto game. Fans have been waiting for the new release for years, and the preorder numbers reflect that interest.

GTA 5's Sales Record Sets High Expectations

GTA 6's early sales have brought back memories of GTA 5's launch. The previous game earned USD 800 million in its first 24 hours. It also crossed USD 1 billion in sales within just three days. GTA 6 could reach similar numbers after its release. However, its actual sales performance will only become clear once the game launches.

The game's price may also be adding to its preorder revenue. The Standard Edition costs USD80, while the Ultimate Edition is priced at USD 100. Some players may be choosing the more expensive version, although there is no confirmed breakdown of sales by edition. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick spoke about the game's pricing in an August interview with CNBC. He said early buyers were likely among the franchise's most loyal fans.

"We aim always to deliver vastly more value than what we charge," Zelnick told IGN while explaining the company's pricing approach. GTA 6 will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. Its first few days of sales will show whether it can break the records set by GTA 5.
