Microsoft’s latest Windows 11 update, KB5089573, focuses on one thing: responsiveness. This update does not introduce any major new features. Instead, it improves the responsiveness of the Windows operating system.

Windows 11 KB5089573 Makes PCs Feel Faster

The major change is the inclusion of the new low-latency system behavior. In this version, there will be temporary boosts to the CPU when performing specific actions such as launching programs or navigating through the Start menu.

These changes reduce latency and improve the overall user experience. Another improvement made in this version relates to wake-from-sleep performance. This feature makes systems start up and become responsive more quickly after being unlocked.

Login procedures and biometric authentication become smoother, minimizing the usual delay people face after launching their laptops. Background processes were also optimized in this version. As a result, updates are downloaded and processed more effectively. Several bugs related to File Explorer, touchpad interactions, and theme switching have also been fixed.

The Future Roadmap

The update offers improvements to common tasks. Launching programs, changing between windows, and using the interface become smoother and faster. Users interact with short system actions more frequently than long-running tasks. Thus, even small improvements in latency make a difference.

According to Microsoft's changelog, 'KB5089573 introduces Low Latency Profile improvements that maximise CPU frequency in very short bursts. This results in system flyouts appearing up to 70% faster and app launches speeding up by 40%.'

KB5089573 turns out to be a major improvement as it eliminates the lag associated with daily tasks rather than introducing additional functionality. With the Windows 11 KB5089573 update, the computer becomes faster but not more powerful.

However, critics suggest that this update does not provide any benefits for game performance or rendering speed. Longer processes will not be greatly impacted by the update either.
