Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will begin an investment outreach program in the UAE on September 8. The agenda is to attract global capital, deepen business ties and position the state as a competitive destination for international investors.
The three-day visit will cover Abu Dhabi and Dubai and marks Majhi’s second international investment roadshow. The program includes government-level engagements, investor meetings, business interactions and outreach to the Odia diaspora.
Majhi’s program will begin in Abu Dhabi, where he will meet with senior UAE government officials, sovereign investment funds representatives, institutional investors and business leaders.
A key engagement will be a roundtable with International Holding Company (IHC). The Odisha delegation is also expected to sign Memoranda of Cooperation and hold discussions with UAE Investment Minister Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi and representatives of sovereign investment funds.
The state will use these meetings to present its industrial capabilities and seek partnerships that can translate into investments, technology collaboration and stronger business linkages. The delegation will also travel to Dubai for one-to-one meetings with industry leaders and prospective investors. An Odisha Investors’ Meet is scheduled during the Dubai visit. The goal is to provide the state an opportunity to make a broader investment pitch to UAE-based businesses.
The UAE outreach comes as Indian states compete more aggressively for international capital. Odisha was accelerating its overseas investor engagement to ensure that investment interest translates into projects on the ground.
Majhi is also expected to interact with members of the Odia diaspora. The government sees the diaspora as an important link for promoting Odisha’s economic and industrial opportunities.
