Redmi has confirmed several flagship features of the upcoming Redmi K100 Pro ahead of its August 11 launch in China. The smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series chipset. Redmi has also confirmed LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, which are expected to deliver faster app loading, improved multitasking, and quicker data access.
The company has also revealed details of the phone's battery, charging system, and camera, which gives a clearer picture of what users can expect from the new handset. The Redmi K100 Pro is set to launch alongside the Redmi K100 Pro Max. More specifications are expected to be announced before the official unveiling.
The Redmi K100 Pro will feature an 8,580mAh silicon-carbon battery, which makes it one of the largest batteries confirmed for a flagship smartphone. Redmi said the battery uses 26% silicon content and delivers an energy density of 945Wh/L. The handset will support 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
It will also offer 27W wired reverse charging and 22.5W wireless reverse charging. It allows users to charge compatible accessories and other devices. The company has positioned the battery and charging combination as one of the key features of the new smartphone.
On the photography front, the Redmi K100 Pro will feature a triple rear camera setup led by a 200-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS). According to Redmi, the high-resolution sensor is designed to capture detailed images and support lossless zoom through in-sensor cropping. The camera module will also include an ultra-wide-angle lens and a telephoto camera. The telephoto sensor is capable of focusing from as close as 10cm. This can capture macro photographs without switching to a dedicated macro lens.
The Redmi K100 Pro will come with a 6.59-inch flat OLED display that offers 1.5K resolution. Redmi has confirmed that the screen uses its new M11 luminous material and can reach a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. The display also supports a 185Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and gaming. It features a 4,800Hz instant touch sampling rate, which is designed to deliver faster and more responsive touch input.
The Redmi K100 Pro will also feature an in-display 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for secure unlocking. Other confirmed features include stereo speakers, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and Ultra Wideband (UWB) connectivity. The handset will carry an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, offering added durability for everyday use.
The Redmi K100 Pro series is scheduled to launch in China on August 11. Redmi is expected to announce more features and specifications in the days leading up to the official launch event.
