Samsung Electronics has announced a major update to its Samsung Health app, turning the upcoming Galaxy Watch into a more active health assistant. The update will start rolling out from June 8 and will focus on using AI to convert health data into simple daily guidance for users.
Samsung’s new Health system is designed to make health data easier to understand. It gathers information from sleep patterns, physical activity, and body measurements, then uses AI to provide personalized insights. This helps users better understand their overall health and daily well-being using connected Galaxy devices and smart analysis.
The update brings several new tools for improved health tracking. The Vitals feature checks key body signals during sleep, including heart rate, breathing rate, skin temperature, blood oxygen, and heart rate variability. It compares these with normal levels and sends alerts only when there is an important change.
The Heart Health Score combines sleep, stress, activity, and body data into a daily number to help users clearly understand their long-term heart health.
Daily Cardio Load measures how much stress the body faces during exercise. It also suggests training levels and rest time to avoid overtraining or injury. The Fitness Index tracks fitness progress using indicators like VO2 max, steps, and heart rate, and compares results with general benchmarks.
Samsung has also redesigned the Samsung Health app. The new layout is divided into five main sections: sleep, activity, nutrition, mindfulness, and vitals. This makes it easier for users to find key health information in one place.
The home screen now shows daily health tips and AI-based energy scores in a simpler format. Samsung has also improved existing tools like the Antioxidant Index, which now shows trends and daily tracking history. The AGEs index works in the background to show long-term health impact from lifestyle habits.
A new Hearing Health feature also tracks surrounding noise levels using Galaxy Watch to help protect users’ hearing in daily environments.
Samsung says these updates are part of a larger connected health system. Data from Galaxy watches, phones, and other devices will work together to provide a complete picture of users’ health.
The upcoming Galaxy Watch is expected to fully support these features, showing Samsung’s move towards AI-based and preventive health tracking across its ecosystem.
