Saudi Arabia has recalled 1,262 RAM vehicles over a potential safety defect in the trailer control module that could cause trailer brakes and lights to malfunction, increasing the risk of road accidents.

This defect may lead to problems with trailer turn signals, brake lights and braking system, especially when the vehicles are towing trailers. The owners of such cars have been advised to check their vehicle identification number (VIN) and get the defects fixed at no cost.

RAM Recall in Saudi Arabia: Models and Safety Concerns

According to Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Commerce, the recall involves a defect in the trailer control module. The issue could cause a trailer's turn signals and brake lights to malfunction.

More importantly, the defect could render the trailer's braking system inoperative while it is being towed. This could compromise road safety and increase the possibility of an accident.

The recall covers 1,262 vehicles across three RAM models:

• RAM 1500

• RAM 2500

• RAM 5500

The affected vehicles belong to the 2025 and 2026 model years.

The ministry has advised vehicle owners to check whether their vehicles are included in the recall campaign before continuing to use potentially affected towing systems.

How RAM Owners Can Check if Their Vehicles are Affected

Owners of the affected RAM models can visit the official Recalls.sa website to check whether their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) appears in the recall campaign. It is important to note that the Ministry of Commerce has also called on affected customers to reach out to Petromin Stellantis on 8003030040 for the required repairs.

According to the ministry, the necessary repairs shall be done at no cost. The recall is meant to rectify the problem before it becomes a danger to motorists and other road users. RAM owners in Saudi Arabia whose vehicles are among the model years affected should verify their VIN numbers and reach out to the authorised service provider.

This recall clearly shows the need to rectify problems with vehicle components which may affect the safety features of the vehicles, especially when towing.
