Meta quietly introduced Style Sketch, an AI-powered fashion app that helps users create outfits from clothes they already own. The company has released the app on iOS and Android in Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand. It has not announced a wider rollout.

The app represents another consumer AI experiment by Meta. Instead of encouraging shopping, Style Sketch focuses on organizing existing clothing and turning it into practical outfit ideas.

How the Virtual Wardrobe Works

Style Sketch connects to a user’s Instagram account and identifies clothing from previously posted photos. It then adds those items to a digital wardrobe.

Users can also build the wardrobe manually. The app accepts new photographs, short videos, or images uploaded from a phone’s gallery. Once the wardrobe is ready, the AI analyses the available pieces and suggests outfit combinations based on the user’s style.

The app can create complete looks from a user’s existing clothes. It also lets users select one item, such as a jacket or pair of shoes, and generate outfit ideas around it. Style Sketch includes a virtual try-on feature. It displays suggested outfits on a realistic digital model matched to the user’s body shape and skin tone, helping them preview the look before wearing it.

Travel Planning Feature

The app also targets travel preparation. Users enter their destination, trip duration, and planned activities. Style Sketch then creates a day-by-day outfit plan using the user’s wardrobe, itinerary, and local weather forecast.

This feature could help travellers pack more efficiently and avoid buying clothes solely for a trip. It also gives Meta another way to bring AI into everyday routines.
