WhatsApp is testing new paid plans under Meta’s subscription system called Meta One Subscription Plans. The update appears inside the Android beta version of the app. The move shows that WhatsApp may soon offer extra features for users who choose paid options.
The plan comes from Meta Platforms, which wants to connect its apps under one subscription system. This system may work across WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Meta AI. The goal is to give users one plan for all premium features instead of separate payments.
Reports show two new plans called Meta One Plus and Meta One Premium. These plans were seen in WhatsApp beta version 2.26.23.10. The feature is still under testing and not available to all users yet.
Meta One Plus is expected to cost about EUR 6.99 per month, which is around Rs. 700 in India. This plan may include WhatsApp Plus features and extra AI tools. It may also support image and video creation with higher limits. Users may also get simple customization options inside WhatsApp.
Meta One Premium is the higher plan. It may cost around EUR 20.99 per month, or about Rs. 2,200. This plan may include everything in Meta One Plus. It also adds stronger AI tools, better reasoning for complex questions, and higher usage limits for creative features.
Both plans may include WhatsApp Plus features. These features may include custom themes, new ringtones, extra pinned chats, and more stickers. Users may also get better chat personalization and easier list control options.
Meta is also focusing on its AI tools. The subscription plans may give users more access to Meta AI features across apps. This means users may use AI tools inside WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook with the same account.
The company first announced subscription plans last month. It introduced Facebook Plus, Instagram Plus, and WhatsApp Plus for select users. Now, Meta One Subscription Plans may bring all these services into one package.
This change shows that Meta is trying to earn money through subscriptions as well as ads. The company is slowly adding paid features for users who want extra tools and better performance. Free users will likely still use WhatsApp normally without changes.
The testing phase is still limited. Meta is checking how users respond to these plans before a wider release. More countries may get access after testing finishes.
Many tech reports suggest this move may change how messaging apps work. Apps may shift from free-only services to mixed models with both free and paid options.
