Apple is all set to unveil its first foldable iPhone at a price of about AED 7345 ($2,000). This creates a new premium segment, allowing the company to avoid making significant price hikes for its upcoming iPhone 18 Pro range. According to market rumors, Apple is set to launch a foldable phone model that will occupy a higher market segment than the existing Pro and Pro Max variants.

Apple Creates a New Luxury Tier

The smartphone market has become increasingly competitive, while consumers are holding on to devices for longer periods. In line with this, Apple is trying to carve out a niche within the luxury sector.

According to analysts, the new foldable iPhone Ultra will be priced between AED 7345 ($2,000) and AED 9181 ($2,500). Thus making it the most expensive iPhone ever to be released by Apple. This reflects Apple’s marketing strategy, which is reminiscent of those of many luxury brands that have launched premium products to ensure profitability.

Why the iPhone 18 Pro Matters

Apple faces higher costs for advanced chipsets, memory, storage, and AI-driven features. Raising prices across the flagship range could affect demand and slow upgrades. The foldable iPhone is unlikely to match the sales volumes of Apple’s mainstream models. Instead, it may serve as a halo product that showcases innovation and pushes pricing boundaries.

According to rumors, the upcoming device would feature a book-style design with a large internal display and a smaller secondary display. Apparently, Apple is planning to create a virtually seamless display with premium hardware. This could include an advanced hinge system and software optimization for foldable screens.

Instead, the company may position the foldable Ultra model as a prestige product. This would ensure that both the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max remain attractive.

If the latest leaks are real, Apple fans will get yet another iPhone packed with premium features. This strategy would also strengthen the relationship with carriers and business partners that depend on stable flagship iPhone pricing.
