The iPhone Duo has triggered a resale rush in the UAE. Sellers are reportedly asking up to AED 25,000 for Apple's first foldable iPhone following its launch on Friday, October 23. Limited supplies and strong demand have encouraged buyers to pay thousands of dirhams above retail prices.

Some resellers say they have earned more than AED 30,000 in profits within an hour of selling their devices. The phone's high price and limited availability have also attracted buyers from overseas.

Report Profits of AED 30,000

Uzbek national Mohammed Salimov travelled to the UAE on Thursday to secure the phone on launch day. He said he ordered eight units of the 2TB model, which carries an official price of AED 13,599.

‘I ordered eight units of the 2TB model,’ he said. “The market rate is AED 13,599. I have already been offered up to AED 25,000 for it from here in the UAE. That is more than AED 11,000 over its original price. But I am not selling it here. I will take it back to Uzbekistan where people are willing to pay more because the phone has not been released there.”

A Deira mobile shop owner, also named Mohammed, said he earned around AED 32,000 by selling four 256GB units. He reported making approximately AED 8,000 on each device within an hour.  iPhone Duo starts at AED 8,499 for the 256GB model. The 512GB version costs AED 9,349, while the 1TB variant is priced at AED 11,049.

Mohammed Shareef, owner of Extel Mobiles, said his business secured only three devices on launch day. He expects prices to rise further while supplies remain tight, with the next delivery scheduled for November.

Another reseller said he booked more than 30 units and sold 14. He reported profits of around AED 7,000 per phone and said he was holding ten devices in anticipation of higher resale prices. Some buyers placing orders now reportedly face delivery dates in January 2027. The iPhone Duo uses Touch ID instead of Face ID, with its fingerprint sensor integrated into the side button.
