Apple released a new Apple Card advertisement that turns an awkward therapy session into a demonstration of its digital credit card. The ad, titled “Apply and use in minutes,” appeared on Apple’s YouTube channel and promotes the speed of applying for and using Apple Card.
The commercial follows a therapist who becomes distracted during a patient session. A notification on her iPhone reveals a flash sale on flights to Jamaica, prompting an immediate urge to book a holiday.
The therapist soon realises that her wallet is too far away to act on the offer. Rather than interrupt the session, she opens the Wallet app on her iPhone, applies for an Apple Card and books the flight while her patient continues speaking.
Apple says, “Apple Card is built into the iPhone and can be applied for in as little as a minute. Users can earn unlimited daily cash back and use the rewards immediately. The ad avoids a conventional financial-services pitch. Instead, it frames Apple Card as a convenient, low-friction payment tool that fits naturally into everyday moments, even when a user is away from their physical wallet.”
The humour lies in the contrast between the therapist’s professional role and her barely concealed distraction. Apple uses the uncomfortable situation to show that the card can be applied for and used without waiting for a physical card to arrive.
Apple released the ad as it began its holiday shopping season. The company has introduced festive decorations across its physical and online stores and extended the return policy for holiday purchases.
The campaign also arrives amid a busy product period for Apple. The company recently launched a new OLED iPad mini, M6-powered iMac and MacBook Pro, while preparing to release its long-awaited Apple HomeView smart display.
